About Us

The TVBA exists to provide a venue and resources that help and support beekeepers in the Tennessee Valley. This area includes Chattanooga, surrounding counties and predominantly includes the areas of Tennessee and Georgia.

Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 pm., except for September and December, at the Hamilton County Extension Service Offices off Bonny Oaks.

** During January, February and March of 2012, meetings will be held at Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River Street, Chattanooga and will start at 6 p.m. **

All are welcome whether or not you are currently involved in beekeeping; or, have done it for life, or just want to see what it is all about. One of the first questions you will hear when attending our meeting is “how can we help you with your beekeeping?” Our meeting style and attitude is one of eagerness to learn more about the skills of beekeeping and to share those learnings. You will see spouses, children and grandchildren and families at our meetings.

TVBA meetings always include a guest speaker who teaches from experience, whether it is in Power Point, hands-on demonstration or interaction with the audience. Presentation subjects will vary, but cover all facets of beekeeping emphasizing the activities that beekeepers should be involved in for the time of the year each meeting occurs.

Mission

Our Mission Statement is a direct reflection of this beekeeping organization functions:
To promote the study, science and craft of beekeeping and to provide education and encouragement to all Tennessee Valley beekeepers.
